Family's First Rodeo!

Two Sundays ago was like one of the coolest rockstar days for the kids.

It started off with a birthday party at 10a with a magician (!!!!!), then another birthday party at 12:30 at the zip line course (which I should say the kids both went on the zip line and loved it)... So that's two pizza and cake parties in a row, and then the RODEO at 2p. Needless to say, it was a long, exciting day! So we got all dressed up in our cowboy and girl duds, in addition to Edison wearing his Power Rangers costume for most of the day ontop of his cowboy shirt!

I haven't been to the rodeo in over a decade, and now as a mom it was fun to teach the kids about the different events.

Felt very lucky to have been gifted wonderful seats from some friends (thanks to the Smith family for them)! We were in the second row in VIP right by the gate and we even got clods of dirt thrown onto us from the heels of rowdy bulls! The kids also got to high-five the rodeo clown!

Oh and at the rodeo, the cameraman that was near us was a guy who we were in a childbirth class with that filmed Jim, Edison and the cats for the Morris Animal Foundation video. We hadn't seen him since then so that was nice. He also seemed to have the camera pointed at us for some rodeo footage.

After the rodeo, we went to the petting zoo inside the stock show. The kids had fun (for the most part) while feeding, petting and brushing the animals. You will see a photo below of Jim holding Edison's hat and that's because a goat tried to eat it right off of his head--it really scared him!
