Edison with his "hóngbāo": a red envelope filled with gold coins that last night he had strategically laying next to his head while he slept so that - as he explained to me - the monster from the mountains, "Nian" wouldn't eat him in his sleep.
"His mouth is too small to eat grown-ups so he only eats kids. Will you please lock all of the doors?"
