When we boarded the woman we sat next to was very excited because she spotted Edison from afar and was hoping he'd sit nearby. It was nice that she was into babies as that was a worry for me. As the flight took off, Edison was very good. He was drinking from a bottle which served as a distraction (I think) to his ears as they didn't seem to bother him too much. He slept a little bit on the plane, but in true Edison fashion, he's pretty much a party baby and wanted to play and see what was going on.
...but it wasn't all smiles, he did get a little fussy when the plane was landing. The Portland airport is very easy to navigate and the train that takes you into the city is right outside of baggage claim.
Here's lad and dad on the train-
We stayed at Hotel deLuxe, which is in NW/Downtown area. Its a boutique hotel inspired by Old Hollywood and each floor has a theme or honors an era, like Alfred Hitchcock (the floor I was hoping to stay on) or The Exiles (the floor we were on). Room 711.
We hung out at the hotel for a bit and fed Edison, then ventured out to find food and decided to eat at the Whole Foods, so we could load up on snacks. Afterwards, we went to the hotel for a nap, then got up and found Thai food for dinner. At Whole Foods Jim discovered his favorite new snack- Annie's Fruit Snacks. We plowed through them in the first few days. The weather was a little rainy and cold so we were bundled up and I remembered to pack my Hello Kitty umbrella.
By the end of the day, Edison was tuckered out!
