-morning coffee at Stumptown
-walk around Saturday Market under the Burnside Bridge
-go to Japanese Gardens
Stumptown is the local roaster in town and they have their own coffeehouses. We went to the location near the Saturday Markets. Great coffee yet again today and we ate our doughnuts from last night. I had the Grape Ape, which was a frosted raised doughnut with grape Kool-Aid and purple sprinkles. It was soooo good. OH, if I didn't mention it, VooDoo Doughnuts is known for their wacky doughnuts. You can also get married there, the owners are ordained! Jim got a chocolate doughnut and we forgot its name so we named it, "Shout At The Devils Food Cake" (its a reference to Motley Crue for those who don't know).
Then we explored the markets and ate at a falafel cart for lunch.
We hopped on a train and went to Washington Park where the Portland Zoo, Rose Gardens and Japanese Gardens are. Its a beautiful area and at times, the best view of the city.
Once we arrived to the gardens, a sweet tourist offered to take our picture.
The Japanese Gardens are so green. Amazing. Lush. Serene.
Edison's favorite part of the gardens was the Koi pond area.
And then we concluded our day with an outing to a pizzeria in the Pearl District.
As you can see, Edison is ready for solid foods!
